David Hackleman informs us that Oregon State University is growing their
chemical and bio engineering department (with plans to also include
environmental engineering). They are in need of a tissue engineer/scientist who
will grow human cell tissues for developmental work, and develop embedded
(chemically bonded) anti-coagulant systems for artificial joints, stints, etc.

Application Deadline: November 14, 2003 for full consideration

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Oregon State University seeks
applicants for a full-time nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position
in Tissue Engineering. The person will be an important part of strengthening
biomedical engineering capability at OSU and be partially supported through a
Whitaker Foundation Special Opportunity Award. Opportunities exist to develop
cooperative research and teaching initiatives with faculty from other units on
campus, and clinical partners in the new Regional Heart Center at Good Samaritan
Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, among others.
