Dear SEF Transport and Oil, and NZEVA
I've just been along to the EV talk put on by Mike Laba, Jens Rekker
and Adrianne Jones and one or two others in Dunedin today, and it was
greeted with such enthusiasm, that half of those who arrived couldn't
get in....A total groundswell of enthusiasm for EVs. There was a very
large interest.
Thank-you very much to the organizers. The entire town is abuzz with
talk of electric vehicle conversions!
Mike's magnificent Electric Morris Mini was outside on display and I
jotted down the details. I'm very impressed with the great momentum
generated by the event. Half the town seems to be talking about car
conversions...
Hopefully Mike can provide a picture for us, of his car.
I offered to talk my camera along and to make a similar film to the last
one I did for Internet, but was told that the organizers have filmed
their event and are making a DV of it. That is perfect. Hopefully this
kind of film can be there and in the shops.
Here are the details that Mike put on his vehicle [ which I hope I've
got correct...:]

The meeting was so successful, that those outside who couldn't get in
due to the large numbers wanting seats all wrote their contact details
down and there will be another meeting covering the same material for
those not able to attend the first one.
Well done Dunedin converters!
The event was advertised in the local community newspaper and has struck
a chord. These small vehicles of the past seem perfect for the EV. There
seems to be a groundswell of enthusiasm now emerging on the EV and if
the enthusiasm of Dunedin people is something that represents the
general desire for non petrol private vehicles, then that is great.
