The onlinefacilitation listserv is for discussion about the skills, techniques and issues around online facilitation in a variety of Internet online environments and virtual communities.
The list is not intended to be a commercial venue and no posting implies commercial endorsement. But since many members appreciate keeping up to date with products, services and job news, announcements are welcome on the list if the word ANNOUNCEMENT is included in the header. For job postings, please include the word JOB in the header. This will allow those not interested in commercial information to delete the email. If the announcement or job postings grow in volume, we will consider splitting of separate lists for those functions.
Due to the increase number of spammers, all memberships must be approved by the list owner and her team of wonderful volunteer moderators. New members will have their posts moderated at first until we can tell that we aren't getting another spam attack. One quick way to diffuse this is to post your intro as soon as you can. Then I have a good sign to take off the moderation. I apologize for this inconvenience and "controlling nature" of the moderation, but the reality is spammers are wrecking the "commons."
The list is often high volume, so you may wish to consider the digest option if email is an issue.
If you choose to quote someone's message from this group to an outside source, please link back to the specific message. A good practice is to ask people if it is ok to use their words in other settings. This is not a rule, just a suggestion!
