do u mean to get oodle listing i.e. real estate,car
ads on ur
site? this can be done.
I use a basic website
builder to build websites locally. I have both a real estate agent and a car
dealer that want websites. I thought oodle would be a good way to manage
listings... Ie, they would be able to enter in oodle and somehow could i get
a code to bring their listings only to their respesctive sites?

Jules,
What kind of integration do you have in mind? the API is not something you
simply install; there are several ways to integrate it.
You can send me an email at info@... with your email, and we can talk
about what you need and how I could help you.
Thanks,

This started to happen in the past 1-2 weeks. We are getting errors when calling
the API: http://api.oodle.com/api/v2/listings
"The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseHeader Detail=CR
must be followed by LF"
This is like 1 out of 5 requests. Please look into this asap. Thanks!

Afternoon All
I'm trying to write a request which only returns elements from one source, eg
Thomson Local. I can get the request searching if I use thomsonlocal as part of
the query (q) but this returns thomason local ads and thomason local businesses
but not just one.
$request =
"http://api.oodle.com/api/v2/listings?key=TEST®ion=UK&radius=".$radius."&loca\
tion=".$location."&category=".$category."&start=".$start."&attributes=&refinemen\
ts=full&dimensions=listing_source_ThomsonLocal.com&q=".$search;
I've tried adding in the dimensions but this seams to be ignored.
Any ideas ?
Cheers
Stu
Okay so I can query one Oodle ID (your example:
http://api.oodle.com/api/v2/listings?key=TEST®ion=usa&q=1525753337).
How can I create a query string of multiple listing ID's? Say I have 6 items
found on Oodle I want to showcase in widget format using the Oodle API. How can
I use the q parameter to pull in and target 6 ID's? I attempted a few
variations with no success; only able to target one...
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong - any help would be appreciated!
Kim
by that i can give u modified query string by which u can get ur desired results.
thanks

I was reading the docs and it said they "ask" for more than 1000, which is a lot
more than we have being a new site.
I was going to see if this is absolute or just a recommendation.

Able to Send requests and get responses and present them into html page. But
every time my request is returning only 10 listings for any category/Location.
May I know how to get listings for each query.

It is easy now with the new API version 2. You don't need to parse xml rpc
anymore. Read this http://developer.oodle.com/listings,

Right. As I mentioned in my previous post, the information is similar
between the two APIs, but grouped differently. This includes using
slightly different names for certain things.
In that respect, the new API is not simply a "URL-based" version of
the old API. In other words, we did not say "move all the XML-RPC
stuff up to the URL, but keep the response exactly the same."
API v2 was built from the ground up to be simpler, easier, and faster.
This includes changing both the request structure and the response
structure.

Hmm, your XML parser should be able to slurp similarly named nodes
into an array. Don't see how that would be a problem.
But in any case, you mentioned earlier that you're using PHP. If so,
we've got something extra special for you in the new API: you can
avoid XML parsing entirely.
On the new API, add "&format=php_serial" to your call. That will
return the data in a serialized PHP format. Unserialize that and --
boom -- everything is already parsed for you.
I encourage anyone using PHP to try this:
-----------------------------
<?php
$url =
'http://api.oodle.com/api/v2/listings?key=TEST®ion=sf&format=php_serial';
$response = file_get_contents($url);
$data = unserialize($response);
print '<pre>';
print_r($data);
print '</pre>'
?>
-----------------------------
You'll see that the first listing is in $data['listings'][0], the
second listing is in $data['listings'][1]. You don't have to worry
about any XML parsing.
It doesn't get much easier than that and it's only available on the
new API. :-)
Hope that helps!

I have contacted oodle a couple of times to get them to intregrate there full
classified listings inot my websites classified listings according to there page
they have developers tht would do this but there is no way to get ahold of
anyone from oodle any suggestions
You'll still need to set the 'key' and 'region' parameters. You can just make the 'region' value to be a country (in the example above, you can see that it's "usa").

Hi Manish! There is. You can just set the listing id as the "q" parameter on
the API call. For example:
http://api.oodle.com/api/v2/listings?key=TEST®ion=usa&q=1525753337
You'll still need to set the 'key' and 'region' parameters. You can just make
the 'region' value to be a country (in the example above, you can see that it's
"usa").
Anyway, that should help you out! Good luck!

No known problems right now with zip search. I'm not sure I fully understand
your question.
Are you saying that no matter what zip code you put in, you always get the same
set of results?
Can you email api@... with an example of the API request that appears to
be working incorrectly?
> Is the exclude filter working as yet?
The 'exclude_sources' parameter is mostly functional again. We have a bug right
now where it doesn't quite work for all possible values, but in about 95% of the
cases, it does.
Specifically, listing sources that are also classifieds partners of ours (for
example, 'walmart', 'military', 'myspace', etc) don't get excluded properly with
that parameter at this moment. We're working on that and a fix should be out
and live within a week.
But as I mentioned, for the vast majority of values you pass in,
'exclude_sources' should now wipe them out when you specify that.
If it's not working for you, send an email to api@... with an example of
the API request that's not working correctly and I'll do what I can to assist
you!
