The Open Research Society (ORS) is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) and is not depending on any government, political party, political or religious organization or entities representing financial interests.
Objectives
* Providing free access to knowledge and the results of scientific research to all people at national, European or international level.
* The promotion and spreading of the idea of volunteering and voluntary offer among the creators of knowledge and the deliverers of scientific research.
* The development of the citizens˘ society without dependence or influence from state bodies and/or the market, as well as fighting off social exclusion in the fields of knowledge and scientific research.
* The promotion of the lifelong learning idea and the distance learning method, especially by making use of computers and the internet.
The Projects of the Open Research Society
The Open Research Society has initiated a number of worldwide action programs and projects that respond to the need of our society for open access to knowledge and learning for all.
Given a number or key questions and performance gaps, OPEN RESEARCH SOCIETY has working groups and volunteers around the world aiming to promote:
* Open Editions and Open Research Journals
* The World University of Excluded People
* Antipoverty Networks throught the exploitation of Information and Communication Technologies
* A number of Think Tanks focusing on Reform of Education, The School of the Future, The World We Deserve
* Awards for individuals and organizations that pay attention to social responsibility and undertake actions against exclusions related with knowledge and learning.
* The establishment of the World Village of Research and Peace
* The dissemination or scientific research outocmes
* Research Insitutions on leading edge technologies like Web 2.0, Semantic Web, Knowledge and Learning Management.
