The OpenRPC project is an effort to take the progress made by the creators of XML-RPC and move it forward.
The goal is to define a set of specifications and standards to describe the data format, transportation layer, and interoperability interface as distinct chapters of the whole. By adopting this approach, the desired result is an RPC framework usable in a wider variety of environments, on a wider range of platforms, and with a greater level of interoperability than is currently available.
