This is rather interesting ... the function is mine :) you must be doing some stuff for one of our customers ...

the error is design studio, rebooting might help with that, It is not the function.

Limiting an array as you want can be done like this :

SQUISH(BMGetAllItemsFrom("PaymentReference11","Amount")[1->3,1->40])

Assuming you need the PICTURE command in your original statement please note that internal functions are ALL CAPS.

So i think you need :

=PICTURE("###,###,###,###.##", SQUISH(BMGetAllItemsFrom("PaymentReference11","Amount")[1->3,1->40]))

Wo be unto thee : maintanance will be painfull :)
