Babu,
i didnt get any error. The actual problem was we had 2 partitions for oracle /oradata and /orasoft. We had a temporary tablespace temp containing 2 temp files pointing to /oradata and /orasoft. We allocated 2 GB each for both temp files and had autoextend on and had max value set to 20 GB. Yesterday suddenly both datafiles grew to 20 GB and occupied both partitions. When i did df -h both partitions showed 100% full. We had write error when a search was done in our application because temp files were not able to extend. So i thought of dropping the tempfiles and creating in another partition (3rd partition) and when i dropped the temporary tablespace in OEM and checked for the space still it was showing 100% full in both /oradata and /orasoft. I deleted including tempfiles also when deleting temporary tablespace. I also manually checked for older temp files in both /oradata and
/orasoft but the it was deleted and space was not recovered. Both these /oradata and /orasoft contains other datafiles. I have very litte space left in both /oradata and /orasoft. I do not know why space was not recovered after dropping temp files. Please help solve this issue.
Thanks
Guna
