Job Title: Database Administrator II
Job Location: Hyderabad, India

Job Responsibilities:
Work with large-scale, highly available distributed Oracle systems.
Will be primarily responsible in supporting and operating Amazon.com's highly
available distributed databases that are at the heart of our Business
Intelligence platform.
Perform Oracle upgrades, hardware audits, performance tuning, standby failovers,
backup and recovery and be part of oncall rotation to support the databases.
Develop tools/scripts to better perform database tasks.
Work with Database Developers to review data modeling and code design.
Troubleshooting and performance tuning.
Production support with On-call rotation.

Essential & Desired skills:
Overall experience of 5 - 12 yrs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Experience in Oracle 10g is mandatory; knowledge of Oracle 11g would be an added
advantage.
Should have experience in data modeling skills and implementing optimal database
structures.
Knowledge of all supporting infrastructure components, including operating
systems, hardware/ storage configurations and networks.
Knowledge of Oracle RAC /Teradata will be an added plus.
Experience in scripting languages like Shell or Perl is mandatory.
Excellent UNIX skills and a grasp of fundamental computing concepts.
Should have a proven ability to rapidly master complex new skills and concepts.
Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
Flexibility to take up tasks / assignments on production support as and when
required.
Should be able to troubleshoot complex technical problems under pressure.
