I would say check the latency for your audio device - the 44 should be
capable of excellent results there - but surely that should not be affecting
MIDI timing as well? Is your system under particularly heavy load? I'm
just guessing too - but I suppose there is a chance that some effects
plugins may delay the beginning of audio - once again though, it shouldn't
be affecting the live recording.
I would try recording audio alongside a simple 303 beat in Orion first just
to see if it is a problem when your system is getting under load. I'd also
encourage you to post this on the official Synapse Audio forums as this list
is pretty much a legacy now.
