I missed your original post so I may be way off base but...

I wonder if you have done a WPS find recently. If a WPS find is executed which
recursively searches subdirectories and if during this search a
folder/directory of the WPStartup class is traversed, then this folder is
"added" as a new Startup folder. It is added to OS2.INI and the WPS then tries
to run objects it is able to find within this folder when the WPS starts up.

I wonder if the same thing happens it the WPS find traverses an XWPStartup
folder? This is a possible explanation for how such a folder, which "belongs"
on your W4 desktop, wound up on your eCS desktop.

It copied the files, and here is the end of the log. But I don't see any evidence of it. The only installation info I found did not seem to involve OS2MT. ...
