Major Financial Services firm located in New York City is seeking
Senior MVS Systems Programmer Analyst for a 6 month right to hire
assignment. The ideal candidate will have the following
responsibilities. Provide quality and the timely installation,
implementation, maintenance, and customization of operating systems
and software applications. He / She will Design, code, test and
implement modifications in Assembler and Rexx to systems software
components. He / She will Perform supervisory responsibilities on
complicated technical projects and act as a project manager within
additional departments within the firm.

The ideal Candidate will possess the following skills and expertise:
* He / She will have extensive development experience using
Assembler and Rexx, specifically the candidate will be asked to have
extensive experience in writing Specific Syntax Statements and how
creating user modules. The ideal consultant will also have extensive
experience in development of AB codes from Assembler.
* Requires -10 years of experience in mainframe system programming.
* In-depth knowledge of Z/OS, Unix System Services, Websphere under
Z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, JES2, TSO, DFSMS internals, installation,
problem diagnosis (including dump reading), customization and
maintenance are essential.
* Ability to code, debug and implement system modifications (exits)
using IBM Basic Assembler Language which is essential.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE/PLUSES
** Experience with Z/OS Security Server, JAVA, HTML and Visual Age
for JAVA is highly desirable
** Knowledge of various OEM products is preferred.
** Exposure to TCP/IP, FTP, NFS VTAM, CICS, DB2, and Websphere/MQ
Series is a plus.
