On or about December 10, 2003, Amendment No. 9 to NASA Research
Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space Science" (NRA 03-OSS-01) will
be posted on its homepage Web site at
http://research.hq.nasa.gov/code_s/nra/current/NRA-03-OSS-01/index.html
that establishes a new Program Element A.4.3 in Appendix A entitled
"Applied Information Systems Research" (AISR). This new Program Element
solicits proposals for innovative ideas for the uses of computer science
and technology to enhance space science research productivity. AISR funds
the application of emerging information technologies, concepts,
methodologies, etc. to demonstrate their feasibility and potential science
return, as well as informing OSS missions and research disciplines of
promising techniques and capabilities worthy of broader application and/or
further development through full maturity. Notices of Intent to propose
are due January 22, 2004, and proposals are due March 10, 2004.
