On or about January 23, 2004, Amendment No. 12 to NASA Research
Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space Science" (NRA 03-OSS-01) will
be posted on its homepage Web site at
http://research.hq.nasa.gov/code_s/nra/current/NRA-03-OSS-01/index.html
that establishes a new Program Element A.4.4 in Appendix A, entitled
"Advanced Electric Propulsion (AEP) Technologies." This new Program
Element solicits proposals for research and development in the area of
advanced electric propulsion thruster technologies, other than gridded ion
or Hall, that have the potential to enable very high thruster power (100 to
250 kW electric per thruster). Notices of Intent to propose are due
February 23, 2004, and proposals are due March 22, 2004.
