Amendment No. 4 to the NASA Research Announcement (NRA) entitled "Research
Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2005," NNH05ZDA001N,
Released January 28, 2005

On or about March 18, 2005, Amendment No. 4 to NASA Research Announcement
"Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences" (NNH05ZDA001N) will be
posted on its homepage Web site at http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ (select
"Solicitations" then "Open Solicitations" then "NNH05ZDA001N"). This
amendment establishes a new due date for Notices of Intent to Propose
(NOIs) for Program Element D.2 in Appendix D entitled "Interdisciplinary
Exploration Science". The due date for Notices of Intent to propose (NOIs)
to the Interdisciplinary Exploration Science program described in Appendix
D.2 is changed from April 15, 2005, to April 26, 2005.

This change was made to allow potential proposers and other interested
researchers to attend the Preproposal Conference and Workshop for
Interdisciplinary Exploration Science on April 19, 2005, in Washington, DC,
prior to the due date for NOIs. Further information on the conference is
posted as a clarification on the index page for the Interdisciplinary
Exploration Science program solicitation at http://nspires.nasaprs.com/
(select "Solicitations" then "Open Solicitations" then "NNH05ZDA001N" then
"List of Program Elements" then "Interdisciplinary Exploration Science").

The Preproposal Conference and Workshop for Interdisciplinary Exploration
Science will be webcast. Instructions for viewing the webcast of the
conference will be posted as a clarification on the index page for the
Interdisciplinary Exploration Science program solicitation at
http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ (select "Solicitations" then "Open
Solicitations" then "NNH05ZDA001N" then "List of Program Elements" then
"Interdisciplinary Exploration Science"). Instructions will be posted no
later than 1 week prior to the conference.

Further information about this Program Element is available from Dr. Paul
Hertz, Science Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters, Washington, DC
