Amendment No. 9 to the NASA Research Announcement (NRA) entitled "Research
Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2005," NNH05ZDA001N,
Released January 28, 2005

On or about April 27, 2005, Amendment No. 9 to NASA Research Announcement
"Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences" (NNH05ZDA001N) will be
posted on its homepage Web site at http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ (select
"Solicitations" then "Open Solicitations" then "NNH05ZDA001N").

This amendment amends the Geospace Science program described in Appendix
A.17. Section 2.2 of Appendix A.17 is amended to request, for proposed
Geospace/Low Cost Access to Space (G/LCAS) investigations, information
needed by the Sounding Rocket Program Office in order to generate a rough
order of magnitude cost estimate for the operational requirements
associated with a proposed investigation. The required information
includes the envisioned vehicle type, payload mass, trajectory
requirements, launch site, telemetry requirements, attitude control or
pointing requirements, and any plans for payload recovery and
