WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS MAILING LIST
NASA has migrated the management of its communication with the research
community to a new system called NSPIRES (NASA Solicitation and Proposal
Integrated Review and Evaluation System). In order to continue receiving
announcements by e-mail from the NASA Science Mission Directorate
concerning NASA's research programs in Earth and space science, you must
register with NSPIRES and sign up for the Science Mission Directorate
mailing list. See below for registration instructions.
DESCRIPTION OF THE MAILING LIST
E-mails sent to this mailing list include announcements of NASA proposal
opportunities in Earth and space science, opportunities for the science
community to provide input to NASA's program through participation in
advisory groups and strategic planning, and other announcements of value to
the NASA Earth and space science research community. An average of 5
e-mails per month is sent to this mailing list by the Science Mission
Directorate at NASA Headquarters.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE NEW MAILING LIST
1. Register with NSPIRES -- If you have already registered with NSPIRES,
perhaps to submit a proposal to NASA, then you may skip to Step 2. To
register for NSPIRES, go to the NSPIRES home page at
http://nspires.nasaprs.com. Select "Getting an Account." Follow the
registration instructions. Note that it is not necessary to affiliate your
registration with a registered institution in order to register for the
mailing list. (It is necessary to affiliate with a registered organization
in order to submit a proposal to NASA.)
2. To sign up for the mailing list, go to the NSPIRES home page at
http://nspires.nasaprs.com. Login to NSPIRES using your username and
password. Select "Account Management" and then select "Email
Subscriptions." Check the General Subscription List for the Science
Mission Directorate in category 5. (You may also register for additional
NASA mailing lists.) Select "Save."

If you have already registered with NSPIRES for the Science Mission
Directorate mailing list, then we apologize for this unnecessary
e-mail. It is not possible for us to cross-reference the old mailing list
with the new mailing list.
