With this amendment to ROSES-2005, NASA announces new due dates for the
Astrobiology Science and Technology for Exploring Planets (ASTEP) program
described in Appendix B.17. The deadline for submitting or modifying a
Notice of Intent (NOI) has been extended to October 14, 2005. The due date
for proposals is changed to November 30, 2005.

On or about June 10, 2005, Amendment No. 19 to NASA Research Announcement
"Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences" (NNH05ZDA001N) will be
posted on its homepage Web site at http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ (select
"Solicitations" then "Open Solicitations" then "NNH05ZDA001N").

The due dates for proposals to the Astrobiology Science and Technology for
Exploring Planets program described in Appendix B.17 have been
changed. The deadline for submitting or modifying a Notice of Intent (NOI)
has been extended to October 14, 2005. The due date for proposals is
changed from July 29,2005, to November 30, 2005.

This change is made in anticipation of the announcement being made prior to
October 14, 2005, of selections from the 2004 solicitation for the
Astrobiology Science and Technology for Exploring Planets program.

This amendment also identifies a new Program Officer for Program Element
B.17 "Astrobiology Science and Technology for Exploring Planets".

Tables 2 and 3 of the Summary of Solicitation have been updated to reflect
the new due dates.

Further information about this Program Element is available from Dr. Carl
Pilcher, Solar System Division, Science Mission Directorate, NASA
Headquarters, Washington, DC 20546-0001; Telephone: (202) 358-0291;
