AMENDMENT TO THE
ANNOUNCEMENT CALLING FOR PROPOSALS FOR
THE MARS SCOUT WORKSHOP
OF MAY 22-24, 2001
Date Issued: April 11, 2001
On or about April 12, 2001, an amendment to the announcement for proposals
to be presented at the Mars Scout Workshop will be posted at its Web site
http://spacescience.nasa.gov/an/marsscoutsworkshop/ . The purpose of this
amendment is to revise and clarify the procedures that will be used to
make selections under this NASA Broad Agency Announcement, and to make
limited revisions to the information to be submitted by proposers for
evaluation. Major changes being implemented through this revision include
changes to the procedures to be followed during the workshop, a change in
the requirement for a Notice of Intent from mandatory to recommended,
revisions to the selection process to be followed by NASA during concept
evaluation (including the inclusion of cost as an evaluation factor), and
definition of products expected from the concept study
activities. Proposers are responsible for reviewing the revised
announcement and ensuring compliance with all changes implemented through
this amendment. Changes being implemented through this amendment take
precedence over any "Questions and Answers" (or other supplemental
information previously provided to proposers) in situations where conflict
occurs.
Changes being requested to the information to be submitted are minimal,
and, therefore, the date for receipt of abstracts, and the planned dates
for the Workshop, remain unchanged. The specific changes being implemented
to the Announcement can be reviewed by accessing the red-lined version of
the original announcement that is being provided at its Web site as noted
above.
