X11 will no doubt be recompiled by Apple and work out of the box. IRAF
has reports from http://spac-21.rice.edu/maciraf that a port is
planned as soon as the right people have the right hardware. I can't
imagine it would be too tough a job seeing it already is compileable
for x86 systems. I've not heard anything about IDL, no reports from
RSI that I can see or on the IDL newsgroup recently, but I imagine
it's only a matter of time, as it's already available for a range of
systems.
