Is otug-jobs@yahoogroups.com the right solution for job postings?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #509 of 636 |
As a long-standing member of OTUG, I'd like the subset of the
community that is looking for new opportunities to know I have an
immediate opening for a java developer.

I question that the new yahoo egroup is working. I respect the
wishes of those that are comfortable in their current position to not
be bombarded by ads for jobs.

However, the otug-jobs@yahoogroups.com doesn't seem to me to be the
solution. A person cannot view any messages online. They must join
the group to get emails so they miss out on any previous postings.
In fact, those that posted entries cannot even view their own or
reply to them to indicate when they no longer apply.

To date, there are only 7 members in this group and only 4 messages
exist.

Is there a better way for the Java special interest groups to find
these opportunities when they are looking?

Perhaps tcjug-jobs, which has been around longer? Yes, 7 members doesn't seem a worthwhile size. - Clyde ... Clyde E. Cutting, Java and XP Consultant ...
