RE: Default INBOX on OLXP

Hi Sue (and all):

Yes, a little add-in like Chilton Preview or OLDefPath to chose the FOLDER
that displays when you start OL.

I have an Outlook Bar shortcut and after I start OL I just click on it - it
connects and displays my messages - no problem. Hate that extra <CLICK>!!

BTW, Outlook Today setup will let you choose any folder to display the
totals of unread messages.

Tim

Good idea! That would probably be prettier and easier to maintain than a
shortcut.

What do you think, Tim?

:/ don't like those two. How about a little wsh/vbscript to start
Outlook
in the right folder and display it?

Thanks. I wouldn't have thought of Copy Here. Regular drag certainly
doesn't work in WinXP.

But #1 ... the first time I tried the shortcut link, it messed up my F9
Send/Receive group settings. I had to restart Windows to be able to
Send/Receive again. Also, it starts with no Outlook Bar or Folder List,
which isn't desirable.

I suppose it might be possible to use a /select to get the IMAP Inbox
and folder list or Outlook bar.

But #2 ... I (not reading the original post carefully enough) was
thinking of full Inbox functionality -- message flag reminders, receipt
and meeting request processing, etc.

Can't you just right click and drag the folder to the desktop? (Pick the
copy here from the context menu to get an Outlook shortcut to the folder
in
question.)

I don't think you can do that with Outlook's IMAP by itself. However,
the InsightConnector extension at http://www.bynari.net supports this.
Their pricing is for workgroups (25 user minimum), but if you ask, they
might provide a single-user license.

Hi all:

I recently changed over to an IMAP email service. The better see my
email
from different locations, browsers, etc. I wanted to make my default
INBOX
on the initial display my IMAP INBOX, not my .pst INBOX. Can't seem to
find
a way to do that. Any ideas?
