I hope you know that adding a resource intensive program like Outlook will
slow down your computer's start up time. I think you would be better off
just setting up Outlook to start in the Calendar mode, as Diane explained,
and then clicking an Outlook shortcut (either on your desktop or in Quick
Launch). This way, your computer would start up more quickly in case you
need to get to something else right away and don't want to wait the extra
time for it to start up.
Personally, I try to get rid of a LOT of the junk (Media Players, IM
programs, etc.) that tries to start-up when the computer starts. The only
thing I want starting up are essential services and processes, my antivirus
and firewall and a couple of other low-resource processes (like Mozy
Backup).

you need to put a shortcut to outlook.exe in the start folder (start menu,
programs menu) and set outlook to open to the calendar in tools, options,
other, advanced.
