some idiot manager knows how to do it better. Guess who wins the

I am also looking for Nastaliq solution for my website.

But there are many Nastaliq fonts to choose from (being a nice thing, but a problem for me). And some of them have copyright issues. Personally I like Jameel Noori nastaliq. But first it has some copyright issues, secondly it is too large a font for a common user. 12 MB size is too big for a font.

I hope Urdu websites will shift to Unicode Nastaliq fonts soon, and some font will become a standard in near future. (currently picture based Nastaliq text is common in Urdu websites). Some of the visitors of my site have already suggested to use a better font (instead of Nafees web). So Nastaliq is the only option.

Any suggestions in this regard?

For some reason I find hardly any websites using proper Nastaleeq font. Those who do, like Jang etc., they use images and graphics.

I intend to add an Urdu section in my Sindhi website where I want to use Urdu Nastaleeq font.

I have done some experimenting at

http://bhurgri. com/bhurgri/ copy/sd_index. php

If you scroll down you can see examples of Urdu Nastaleeq. This page should be viewed in Internet Explorer or latest version of Safari browser. Safari renders text beautifully if you go to Preferences/ Appearance and change the font smoothing from Standard to anything else.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Hi All,

I have modified all PakType fonts; i.e Ajrak, Naqsh, Naskh Basic and Tehreer with following features:

* Added complete support of Arabic and Arabic Supplement ranges, including Sann, Sufha, Shumar and Ayah symbols. (Naskh Basic already had these features)
* Added Latin characters, punctuation, some letter like symbols and currency symbols.
* Smooth display for all sizes.

These fonts are available in the Files section of the community. You can also access these fonts without any membership from following locations:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/paktype/
https://paktype.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/paktype/Fonts/

* These fonts might have some Aerab Placement and kerning issues.
* I have not made language specific releases for Ajrak, Naqsh and Tehreer.

Dear Brothers,

Assalam Alikum WR WB,

May Allah Spread His Countless Blessings On You And Your Family And All Ummat-e-Muslima ( AAMIN!!! )

I very thankful to you all for assisting/reply me, specially to Mr. Abdul Basit Qadri who has solved my problem.

Mr. Irtiza Hassan thanks you too, "Insert Quraan In Word" is also a very good software, but i am typing Quraan Majeed Ayats in urdu translation that is why i am need to use of Inpage. And i have also tried to type urdu in Word by using Phonetic Keyboard Layout but there is still problem in typing Urdu word "LIYE" when i type it, it is braked in each character not combined in one word. It is easy to copy and paste the text but typing by my own hands and fingers is satisfying me that i am typing Quraan Ayats Urdu Translation by myself (as things in Islamic Point of View).

I am also thankful to Mr. Latif Sagar for your support and helpful opinions.

In last i want to get permission from you all, can i send my Daily Islamic Mails on your yahoo address if you don't mind?

Dear Brother

I think that you are not typing proper spaces in between the words.

I retyped your sample text and modified it according to your indications on the
sample image.

In first, second and third (leaving heading) oval mark in the paragraph, I added
the space simply. In the fourth oval mark "Baaz na Aaen" I dececreased the space
between "Aa" and "Ein" by holding the Ctrl key and pressing the F6 key few
times.

Please find the image file in Files Section. Name of the image file is "For
Shakaib Inpage Text.jpg"

May it help you.

Saif

AoA,
I think it might be a font issue, but I have not used InPageXP so
don't know exactly how to solve the problem.

The solution I can recommend is to convert your data into Unicode and
use Microsoft Office Word or OpenOffice Writer.
OpenOffice is a free software and will work on Windows XP (and above)
and Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora and others).

You will find various solutions in Files section for converting Inpage
text to Unicode, if InpageXP does not store text to Unicode.

You can try Nafees Nastaleeq (available from
http://www.crulp.org/software/localization/Fonts/nafeesNastaleeq.html), or
Alvi Nastaleeq (available from http://www.voanews.com/urdu/) and can
use them for free and see if they solve spacing issue of not.

You can find other Nastaleeq fonts at Urdu Mehfil forum:
http://www.urduweb.org/mehfil/downloads.php?do=cat&id=3

These fonts will work fine in Microsoft Office Word or OpenOffice
Writer. But I don't know whether these fonts would work in InpageXP or
not.

I am attaching the sample page for your understanding, i may not have explain exactly in written but you can understand the problem after watching the sample page text.

I use to send this type of text daily, is there any solution or any font available which can separate or create enough gap in each word(set of characters), So that the reader can easily read and understand the meaning of text without any difficulty of understanding (which word is with which word).

JazakAllah

Wassalam,

Khawaja Muhammad Shakaib

Subject: Fw: My new book "Bari Jin Baari"

Dear friends,

With the grace of Almighty Allah, I have completed writing my first book “Bari Jin Baari” in Sindhi, containing the biography of famous 19th century sufi sheikh of Sindh Hazrat Khalifo Mahmood Nizamani (rahmatullah alaih).

I am releasing this book free on the Internet, as in my present circumstances I am unable to get it published in press. This is beneficial for every one as it is available free of cost as ebook, and anybody can print it. It will be published in near future in Sindh.

For reading and downloading, visit: http://www.maktabah.org

You can also read online at: http://www.scribd.com/doc/12738452

Requests:

·         Please read the book, it contains great spiritual information in the form of biography and teachings of this great shaykh, who was the great Khalifa of famous Shaykh of Sindh Hazrat Pir Sayyad Muhammad Rashid Roze Dhani (rahmatullah alaih).

·         If you like it, kindly share it with your friends and colleagues. You can also publish it on your website or somewhere else for downloading.

·         If you are a graphic designer, you may create a title design for the final publication of this book. Send me the design, so we can further enhance it.

·         You can also donate for the publication of this book. Publication charges and printing/paper costs are already very high, so I need donations for its publication.

Best Regards,

Abdul Rahim Nizamani

AoA,

I wanted to give status update for my font which is mentioned in this discussion. I was having this problem as pointed out by Numan saahab. But after spending some time, I was able to fix this issue. So now in PakType Naskh Basic fonts I have this functionality available. This font still lacks South Asian Quranic marks and multiple marks over Aya sign.

Following location points to a PDF file that lists all features of this font, and Aya symbol features can be found for row for 6DD unicode value.

https://paktype.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/paktype/Fonts/Naskh%20Basic/comparison%20chart.pdf

Thanks

Assalam-o-Aleikum!

The Unicode based font they (Quran Complex - Madina Munawarra) have introduced is Naskh font. They have not introduced any Thulus font. I just saw a few pages from the version for Sub-continent region and some from version for Arab region. Both appears as hand-written and not computer typed. So, I think, perhaps, they don't have Unicode Thulus font.

Moreover, a few months back, Mr. Lateef Sagar, in his mail had mentioned a problem of Aya Sign (U+06DD). Ayahs in the Holy Quran terminate on an Aya sign, which contains a number inside a circle and a symbol/mark above the circle. If we want to write Holy Quran in Unicode, the Aya sign available in Unicode, perhaps, doesn't support two insertions i.e. a character inside and a character above.

Dear Afzal Sb,

AoA

As discussed on phone, kindly initiate enquiry into provision of Unicode enabled text of Holy Quran in "Thulus" font.

As you mentioned, the Holy Quran Publishing House in Madina Munawwara may already have developed it for printing the Holy  Quran for Pakistani readers.

Kind Regards,

Khaver

Hi all,
Keyboard layouts for following languages are available in Files section:

Devnagri
Khowaro
Paarkari
Pashto
Punjabi Shahmukhi
Sindhi
Siraiki
Urdu (Same can be used by Balochi)

I want to create keyboard layouts for all other Pakistani languages
specially Brahvi, Hindko, Torwali, Burushaski and others.

Can some one point me to links where I can find complete alphabets of
any of these languages? Or if anyone can voluntarily make an image
file showing complete alphabets of any of these languages and can send
to me, I'll be very grateful to them.

Thanks
