Some allow scripts but not many.  The only other way I can think to test it is
to get a job at another palace.  Because ops can script all they want.  Or ya
can get ppl on your pally =P

That's probably it.  My palace is brand new and there's noone there
to test my bot on, lol.  So went around to a few other palaces to
test it, but it didn't work.  I bet they don't allow scripts...  How
else can I test my bot?  Is there a palace that allows user scripts?

   I'm no scriptor, so the first thing i'd check is whether you copied and
pasted everything correctly into the ipt file. Even one curly bracket left
out of a script can mess it up badly. I should know. :-)  I was having
trouble with a room script once, I tried everything I could think of to fix
it. It turned out that it needed to be copied and pasted in sections into my
pat file. I was copying everything just fine, but it wasn't pasting
properly.
   If it's in your ipt file correctly, I have no idea what else to check.
Hopefully some of the fantastic scriptors on this list will be along to help
soon.

I'm not sure what is wrong with it from what you said my brain is tired and
i'm ready to go to bed..  I'm familiar with Laban I have one, and just made
another one a parrot using the same type script.. If you want to swing by

file.  I copied my current file and prop bag, then renamed them for

I use http://www.fpalace.com/ for my palace.  It's not free, but only
$5.00/month, which is as close to free as you're gonna find.  UNLESS,
you have an extra pc laying around that can act as your own server.
Then you just need to buy a domain for the year and don't pay for
hosting.

A red Hat linux System 7.3 It was decided to get a server but to be
quite frank and honest I am clueless as to how to install the palace
server on the system. I uploaded it I just and basicly needing help
in setting up,, being that I am not that familar with all the

hrm if i remember correctly, it did that to me too.  you jus have to let it run
its search.  if that didn't work then you may have to download the installer
again.

Hi, I downloaded the palace client from the site, opened it,then
tried setting up and it gave me a window "searching for installed
files", hmmm well there would be installed files if the thing would
cooperate. But so far i cant get anything from it, Is there another
program I should download first before I try installing the palace
client software? or am i stupid and am doing it all wrong to begin
with?

Does anyone have a good gate bot they are willing to share? I had one stored and
it seemesdto work and then gave an error at FOREACH when i used a trigger in
help section----I re-worked it three ways from sunday and still no
luck---grrrrrrrrrrrrrr-all I left in was the greeting for now as we have a tour
starting soon and it was so messed up!!

I joined this list quite awhile ago and I never posted.. which
probably isn't all too uncommon.  I've used palace since 98, and I
kept up with everything about it until a few months ago (I haven't
really been on since).

Anyways, that's neither here nor there, I was just surprised to see
that the egroup is still active.  When CC went under I thought the
end of palace was approaching.  Sure, palace owners and members all
pitched in to their best, but I knew no way that palace would get
the exposure or expierence the success it had under CC.  The Palace
was featured in PC Magazine in 96, was mentioned in KoRn's Follow
the Leader, had guest appearences by Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne,
and others I'm sure. That was all before or during CC's reign over
The Palace, since then, nothing major (or even medium) has happened
in The Palace Community. Iptscrae has been explored to no end by
hundreds of knowledgable users, I find it hard to believe that there
can be much more to discovery with such a limited language.  And
there can't be too many more variations of avatars to be made with
the alloted 132x132 pixels and 256 colors.

After all that introduction, my question is this: Why do you still
use The Palace?

Personally, my reason for not going has been simple. I never had any
loyalty to any specific palace, although I did attend the same
palace for my entire palace life.  I went to palaces for the people,
not the scenery.  After the years people lost interest in the palace
life, and as they left there was no reason to stay.

These online worlds have always fascinated.  The online friends,
enemies, politics, and even "wars".  Some might say the fact that
everything in reality can be mimicked through text and some props is
nothing short of magical.

This post is not concerning bots, scripts, or plugins, but about the
community that creates and shares them.  I have no idea if anyone
would want to exchange palace stories, but it's worth a shot.

system that was launched several years ago and has been growing

The palace client can be downloaded for Microsoft Windows 95/95/ME/XP
(XP must have 98 compt mode active) or MacOS 7+ (9&X must have compat
for older progs active) from
http://www.palacetools.com/ and they also have the largest live
directory for palacespace. Welcome to The Palace. Also many of the
palaces in the directory have Instant Palace which is our java
version. Enjoy.
