You didn't say what OS (Windows or Linux) you want to install
your Linux Palace Server. If it's on Windows, then the standard
answer in the past would be, "NO, you cannot install a Linux
Palace Server on Windows" -- that is, until now.

You can now install a Linux Palace Server on a Windows
2000/XP via CoLinux. See http://www.palaceplanet.net/wiki/
However, most Windows user know very little about Linux,
which is why I'm creating a pre-packaged CoLinux PServer
with Linux PServer 4.5.1 and the standard plugins installed
-- along with Apache (Media Server) and Instant Palace.
It's nearly done -- there're a few odds and ends to be sorted
out and soon be available for downloading.

But, if you are game enough, why not give CoLinux a go by
following the Wiki instructions -- instead of waiting for me =)
(These instructions get updated as I found better ways of
doing things.)

However, if you're refering to Linux Palace Server on Linux
itself, then perhaps you might like to start with the
"Palace 4.4.1 Unix Server Manual" downloadable from
http://www.palaceplanet.net/. The manual is applicable
to CoLinux PServer as well.

Well, I am using Red Hat 9 but realize I have to backup to maybe 7.1 because of the ancient coding of Palace Server in Linux. It even uses an Apache circa 1999...
