If you're still unsure where it's located, do a search on c:\ for
pserver.pat and it should show up the directory. Go to that directory and
it should be ............./palace/psdata/

Just install the PServer on the new computer, then transfer the psdata
directory from the older one to the newer one. Remember to supply your
registration code in the new version if you haven't already.

The is one way to debug room scripts wich is by using the 3.5 palace client. It wil give you extensive error messages if it finds script errors in room scripts.

Another way to deal with you PAT would be with PAT buddy from ALi-co, the only prob is, her site is offline for now. But if i'm not mistaken, she will put it up once the reg-code free versions of her software are finished. No idea when that will be.

Hope this helps

Hey, I'm new on this list, and I was wondering...

Is there a way to debug a .pat file? Because today I just installed prop
generators on my palace, and I made a backup - of the one that turned out to
not work. So now I either have to use the backup that is waaaaay old, or
maybe someone could debug the .pat file I need...

Hello everybody.. I just subscribed to this list. I was wondering if anyone
would know where I could obtain the previous version of the Palace Server
for Linux. Not the 4.5.1 version, but the one before that (4.4.1, I think?)

Thanks,

Anth

best not to spam all of these mailing lists ... but watch for a few key
announcements over the next two weeks.

If you would like to have your Palace considered for inclusion on the 24HOP
Tour, please mailto:factrfxn@... no later than November 29,
2000. You MUST include the following information:

1. Your Palace server name and address
2. Your InstantPalace URL
3. Contact information for god/owner
4. Names of all wizards who will be on site to staff your Palace during
the event
5. A list of 5 rooms (maximum) that you will present on the tour, not
including your gate
6. Web site URL (if you've got one)

24 Hours on the Palace, as the name implies, is a 24 hour long tour of
Palaces throughout the world. It is literally a "Virtual World
Tour" celebrating friendship and the diversity and cultures of our Palace
community.

With so many sites expressing interest, we are faced with the very
difficult task of selecting which ones will participate in the tour.
Unfortunately, there's just not enough hours in a 24 hour timeframe to get
EVERY site that we'd like to include. I truly do wish there was.

Our primary goal is always to schedule a balance between US/non-US sites,
and so, as we sort through the enormous list of site submissions, priority
will be given to sites that reflect the them of this event, follow the
global travel theme, and reflect the unique individuality of various
regions, people and places.

We apologize in advance to those of you who may not make the first draft of
the schedule. It is not a reflection on you or the quality of your
Palace. It's simply a matter of administrative agenda. At our main
airport palace, we have what's called the 'honorable mention' room ...
with links to all of the noteworthy sites not on the regularly scheduled
tour. During free time (or time blocks scheduled for halftime and grand
finale events) our tourists will be free to visit a variety of Palaces from
that launchpad, as well as take some free time to re-visit sites that
they'd like to spend a bit more time at.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. And to all .... welcome to the
approaching insanity, affectionately known as the PREMIERE PALACE EVENT --
24 Hours on The Palace©.

Your 24 HOP Staff

You mean youre server version is 4.4, thats the most recent one, and the best one to use for a private palace.
The 3.5 version i meant was the palace Client, not the server. In the beginning i didn't like the 3.5 client because it was slower but now i do, the scripthandling really is better and for editing i get a lot less errors.

You can find "legal" download links for the 3.5 client at:

support.palaceplanet.net

its 4.4 can anyone send me the older versino

Did you check the client version theyre using? I did have this problem myself a coupleof times when using the 3.5 PC client, and heard the Mac version has the same problem. when i check with the older 3.4.2 version everything was ok.

I hope this is what you mean :)

You mean you have no 8 people server code either? Or are you looking for a bigger code?

For that matter, I know a lot of folks who want to get on there now
that didn't register before The Palace site went down, but can't
without the registration info. :P

Well logging on to a server should never bea problem without the registration code, you just come in as a guest. Can't use avatars, just props (single piece props instead of up to 9 pieces at the time avatars)
and a couple of other things like scripts.
So if they have the right client and the right Addy they should be able to get in the door :)
You checked this on other palaces with theyre clients?

During this weekend of palace hopping, my friends and
I discovered that there are many talented av artists
out there just waiting to be discovered!!!

I realized with all the links/directories I have seen,
no one has put together a "Shopaholics" directory for
those of us addicted to custom avs, or when you are
looking for that "something special".

Sooooooooooooo...what I am looking for is to see if we
can put one together! Any volunteers??

Also if your palace features originals/custom/unique
avs....drop me an email with a brief (emphasis on
brief) explanation of what you have.
