Some people complain about erroneous alarm processing with active
PowerNet. Sometimes, after (or before) night scheduled backup device
comes into strange condition and drain battery. Does anyone seend
this?
Yep, the Info Screen numbers for network activity are the same for
in/out cradle (ie charging).
If I have both boxes checked 'Disable AutoOff while online'
and 'Disable AutoOff in cradle' then the Treo 300 does NOT lockup,
however it performs AutoOff normally when I remove charging cable.

Ok. It still locks-up the Treo 300 when the timer kicks off and
the 'Disable AutoOff while online' is checked.
Info screen shows Network activity when connected as:
No active internet programs. (0)
IF idx=0 name='ppp_'inst=0 status up.
in OK, out OK
IF idx=1 name='loop'inst=0 status up.
in OK, out OK
Status:Online
Info screen shows Network activity when connected as:
No active internet programs. (0)
NetLib not open
Status:Offline
I'll check with the charging cable next. Hope this helps for now.
There is something in the timer routine when checking online status
that the Treo 300 does not like. However it used to work in version
1.0 so maybe we can figure it our.
Let me know what else you might need from me. Thanks for spending
time on this.

Try new beta from the same URL. Can you reproduce information from INFO button from online panel in all possible states: with/without network, in/out of cradle
By the way, the 'Disable AutoOff Forever' works correctly on the Treo 300.
It must be something in the function to check online status that is locking
it up.

I posted my attemps to your yahoo news group. The stay on in cradle
works... But the stay online doesn't. This apparently broke somewhere
between version 1.0 and now. 1.5 doesn't work either, but I didn't have any
earlier version to try.

Version 1.5 has the same problem with the 'Disable AutoOff when
online'. In fact, it locks-up the Treo 300 when it is selected and
you let it time out while on line. (this lockup also happens in
version 1.7 if I uncheck the 'Disable AutoOff when in cradle'.
I did notice that when in the PowerNet Info screen, while i'm
connected, the activity report says 'No active internet programs' but
the NetLib is open and shows activity. I hope that helps.
I'm going to have to go back to version 1.0 until you can figure this
one out.

Ok. I guess I should have downloaded and tried version 1.7 before I
put in my feature request.
I see that you added the checkbox for 'Disable AutoOff in cradle'.
This works on the Treo 300 just as it should. Excellent.
Here's the bad part. The 'Disable AutoOff when online' no longer
works. This worked in my previous version which was 1.0 however it
does not work on the Treo 300 in version 1.7.
Can you add the code back that was able to detect the on-line status
for the Treo 300?
I am going to go try the 1.6 version and see what that does. Let you
know soon.

Sorry. I do not have the Treo ROM image. Unless there is some way to
send it from my phone, I don't know how to get that.

You are correct. The Treo 300 version did NOT implement the "stay on
in cradle" feature in General Prefs as other devices did. The
checkbox just is not there. I have always hated that fact about the
Treo 300.
I would love it if you could implement it. It would be very valuable
for Treo 300 owners.
Thanks for your consideration.
If you do decide to implement. I will be happy to be a tester for you.

What about "Stay in cradle" checkbox at General page of Prefs? It's exactly
what you need. All 3.5+ devices, that I have seen has sucj option (PalmV,
Handera...). If Treo has no such option, but OS version is _really_ 3.5, I
can implement it.

I love the PowerNet ability to prevent AutoOff when online. Do you
think you can add "prevent AutoOff when charging"? I have a Treo 300
and that feature is not part of the operating system as it is on
later versions of the OS. The Treo 300 uses OS 3.5 only.

Thanks for trying, but it still doesn't work:
Hardware68L.c, Line: 1068
Calling HwrDisplayAttrs
w / set

I have no TT, so all I can do is testing on simulator. Simulator is very
inadequate in simulating device hardware. I'll try another method for
backlight control.
Hi!
First I want to thank you for this really useful little tool.
Disabling AutoOff while online works fine on my Tungsten T, but
turning off backlight instead yields this error message:
"An error occured in the application you are using.
Note the error code and contact the developer of this application:
(Sys 0505)(0, 746)"
