On our websight, www.palm.com/support you will find a download for USB drivers
once you download it, open the file and pick which version of windows you have
and install it from there.<br>Good luck.

As far as I know you would be able to sync as
long as you have the right software..hardware.<br>If
you want more information on your phone and palm
working together contact your phone provider. they would
know more about that than us.

I have tried that and for some reason there is
no"install drivers" choice or "run set up" choice. It
appears that there is no way to open the cd to get it to
do anything. It just runs in the cd drive and will
not open up.

What I believe is the problem here has nothing to
do with your Palm Unit, or the modem. The phone line
is what I believe the problem to be, sometimes
certain phone systems will only work with the phones from
the company that supply the phone system, like
Lucent, ATT and so on.<br><br>You also don't need to do a
sync with the modem to get Avantgo, when you sync on
your computer it would update that automaticly when
you are online.

I am using a Palm-IIIxe handheld, OS v.3.5.2 . I
can utilize iAmbic Mail & AvantGo via my 3Com Palm
Modem just fine from normal phone lines, but when the
phone service requires that I dial "9" to get an
outside line, the handheld does not dial the "9" even -w-
the box checked in the Hotsync manager (in modem
mode). I have tried adding commas after the "9", but
there seems to be no differance either way. The unit
WILL dial "9" as a prefix when I try to "phone home"
for a remote hotsync to my PC, but not -w- any 3rd
party applications. Help! I really like iAmbic Mail &
AvantGo, but this is getting to be a pain!!!

What you need to do is set your new mail system
as your default mail provider. Doing this will allow
your hotsync manager to read the proper email to sync
with.<br>You may also want to goto www.chapura.com and
download the latest version of pocketmirror, if it isn't
the one you already have..

Well, you have to install the driver and thats
it.<br>If you already have the Palm Desktop, just go into
"My Computer", right click on the CD rom drive,
select open, from here you should be able to find an
install driver file, just double click on it and you are
on your way.

It is a Gateway 500MHZ running Windows 98. My concern is with the installation

I just got a IIIxe. when I first got it, it
synched with Outlook Express 5. When I got rid of the
accounts/messages in express it synched with 2k. When I tried to
resynch it "fails while trying to log on to the desktop
mail system". The message says to run mail setup from
the start menu. When I do this, the cursor
momentarily hourglasses then nothing else ever happens.
Neither reinstalling the Palm software nor upgrading the
chapura software changes anything. I an using Win98

First we need to know what type of computer you
have, is it a Mac, if so what OS do you have, if its an
IBM compatble, what version of windows do you
have....<br>If its a mac, make sure that your serial port
setting (hotsync in the menu bar&lt;settings&gt;)are set
for the palm connect USB, you may want to lower your
speed here also to 9600 for the first hotsync with this
type of speed.<br><br>If its an IBM you may want to
unplug and plug back in your USB.<br>If you are
connected to a hub(ie docking station) undock and plug the
cradle into the computer directly...<br><br>for further
support, you may want to call us<br>847-262-7256<br>or you
could just post another message with the exact computer
that you have..

I bought a USB PlamConnect Kit and cannot get it
to work. My unit will hot sync thru the normal port
but when the USB cable is tried it will not. I have
followed the directions that came with it and seem to have
a hard time getting the installation CD to run
properly..It is not the fault of the computer becasue I have
been on the phone with Gateway and they verified that
the usb port is being recognized. Any ideas??<br>rd

You may want to take the unit back to the store,
because they still have a 30 day warranty on it.<br>Even
if you reset the unit, and it works, this could
happen for the life of the unit, so I would suggest
taking the unit back to the store....<br><br>If they
won't take it call Handspring, they should send you
another unit, and have you send that one back....<br>good

I have a concern that I hope someone can shed
some light on. I just recently purchased a Visor
Platinum & something that I've noticed lately is that in
order to see the screen, I have to have the contrast
slide bar adjusted way over to the right, whereas the
contrast was great at midscale when I first bought it. Is
this normal, is it possibly dictated by type of
batteries, or is the unit defective? I hope your tech
support is for all Palm OS products & not just Palm
itself. Please help.

The only time that you shouldn't be able to open
the hotsync manager in Windows 98 is when the hotsync
manager is running.<br>Usually when the hotsync is
running you have a red and blue icon in the system tray
by the clock, usually in the bottom right hand
corner of the desktop. If its not there you would need
to go to &gt;start&gt;programs&gt;palm
desktop&gt;hotsync manager and then you should have the icon in the
system tray....<br>"Right" click on the icon and you
should be able to get to your set up, or custom where
you can adjust your conduit settings, <br>if this
answered your questions please leave a
response...<br>Thanks...

Sega to Provide Games to Palm Handhelds
<br><br>NEW YORK (Reuters) - Japanese video game maker Sega
Corp. (7964.T) on Wednesday said it would develop games
for Palm Inc.'s (NasdaqNM:PALM - news) handheld
computers by the end of the year.<br><br>Peter Moore,
president and chief operating officer of Sega of America,
said the games would likely be geared toward handheld
devices with wireless connections, so that consumers can
download games either on a pay-per-play basis or via
subscription.<br><br>``The quality of games has not been up to par
recently...,'' Moore said in a conference call. ``But once we
start applying our development effort to bring
characters like Sonic (the Hedgehog) to a Palm, I think you
will see the business model open up
immediately.''<br><br>The company did not provide details on pricing or
specific games for the Palm devices, saying only that more
information would be released in coming weeks.<br><br>Sega
made the announcement at the same time that it
revealed it would move out of the hardware business by
pulling the plug on its flagship Dreamcast (news - web
sites) video game console.<br><br>The game maker will
stay in the software business, providing Sonic and
other characters and games to platforms developed by
its competitors, including Sony Corp.'s (6758.T)
PlayStation 2 (news - web sites).<br><br>Rival game software
company Electronic Arts Inc. (NasdaqNM:ERTS - news) has
said it will not focus on games for handheld
computers.<br><br>U.S. sales of personal digital assistants, such as the
popular Palm Pilot, more than doubled in 2000, according
to industry data, in sharp contrast to slack growth
in the personal computer market. Palm dominated with
a market share of 78 percent in 1999, according to
research firm NPD Intelect.<br><br>Sega's Moore said Palm
users will increasingly seek out compelling games for
the handheld devices.<br><br>``The ability to get
quality games moving forward in either premium
pay-for-play or a subscription-based model is becoming more
relevant to that consumer,'' he said.<br><br>``As a
result, we are working on a business model that will
allow Palm owners, particularly those that have a
wireless connection, to be able to subscribe to something
like 'Game of the Week.'''
