imaging program given by kfd mr .richter works great on fish eye and all
rotation camera distortion artifacts ,i found that patgui does the same if you
know the right numbers to input, anchor points they call them,ks

Where can one get, ot too expensive, frames for panoramic images? Say in the
width of 18"-24" range. I've looked around but have struck out so far.

The only stock frames for panoramics that I have seen are 12" x 36", very
inexpensive frames at most frame shops, Aaron Brothers, Michaels Craft
stores, etc.
There are some companies that make frame kits that you can assemble the
pieces and could probably make a panoramic frame from their pieces. I'd surf
google for "photo frame kits" and see what you find.
Otherwise, print on canvas and have it stretched and wrapped around the
frame so you dont need a frame, or print on photo paper and mount on
gatorboard with some sort of edge wrapping that many print/mounting shops
offer. Much cheaper than trying to frame a large panoramic.

I would certainly try framedestination.com - they will do custom sizes of
frames and mats and they ship lightning fast. I am not affiliated with them
whatsoever, just a happy customer :)
Ask for Mark if you call - he is the owner and will bend over backwards to
make sure your order is perfect.

HI All,
Disclaimer: I do graphics and web design for these folks....
I also do large prints and panoramas on a Canon 8100 so I have to deal with
the issues of producing large prints daily.
I have many of my images done by Lamiframe where they mount prints in any
size up to 96² for very reasonable prices. You can even establish a
re-sale-wholesale relationship with them and get further discounts.
They have been recently acquired by the Reprint Mint who has set them up
with new machines and a better work area resulting in better quality.
They dry mount the print to a wood substrate and laminate it and then apply
a robust heat bonded edging to cover the edge with a permanent coating that
conceals the beveled edge of the wood and the white edge of the paper. The
process works best with prints on matte paper and the result with canvas is
gorgeous!
I find the viewing experience of these laminated prints to be much better
then a glazed-framed piece, the COGS is much better and they are very
shippable.
There are several different styles. I usually go for the float or box mount
with luster laminate.
Check out their web site for further details:
http://www.lamiframe.com/
I have to critically note that every year when I close my books prints that
have been Lamiframed outsell standard framed, raw and gallery wrapped canvas
by a wide margin. Often I will show prints in several different
presentations so this is the vote of the buying public.
Cheers,
Cooksey

Hi.
Try looking for "sectional frames". For a 10x24-inch frame, you buy one 10-inch
pair and one 24-inch pair and put them together yourself; one set is for the two
horizontal sections and the other set for the vertical sections. You'll need to
buy glass, a matt, and some other materials to complete the frame. You can get
these almost any size between 8 to 36 inches. Usually available in metal only.
I've done a bunch of these at 12x32-inch size, works great but you have to put
these together yourself or course.

I think that is a bad software and I'll naver buy it because they
think viral marketing is acting like swine flue.
And this kind of rude and aggressive acting means that the company and
their products ARE what they are percieved.
This means NO buisness culture, BAD marketing strategy, NO knowledge
of the effective market and NO user consideration.
Just this alone reveals the limits and the blindness of the company
and their products. And that is the reason why they were kicked out
from all the most important VR lists.
I'd add that my name means something in the quite close and small
world of panoramic photography.

Dear Luca,
Sorry for that if the announcement has annoyed you. As to the quality of the
software, you could compare it with other virtual tour software, I¡¯m sure
you¡¯ll know more about the advantages of it. I have deleted the announcement.
Hope you could understand. "And that is the reason why they were kicked out from

fair to Tourweaver, because it isn't be "kicked out", it's still in.
Hope you could give it a try!

Russ, I found a fairly good supply of small brass screws at my local ACE or
ACO hardware store, and another source at an independent hardware store in
my neighborhood. It did take some looking to find stores that had anything
suitable.

You can also try McMaster-Carr,

I have been able to get small screws for my old Graflex cameras. They have both
wood and machine screws in all sizes. from 000 through large sizes.

Okay...here's the faceplate screw update. The screw is an "oval head No.0 x
1/4" wood screw". Neither McMaster-Carr nor Grainger had anything smaller than
a No.2. My local Ace Hardware had a flat head No.0 x 1/4" so I'm going to go
with that for now and keep looking.
Thanks for everyone's help!

There's a company in New Jersey - MicroMark - that specializes in
modelmakers' supplies, including some very small hardware. They might have
what you want.
Just be sure they have the item *in stock and ready to ship* before you
order.
They have no store, just online and telephone (or I suppose mail)
ordering.

you can also do a web search for small hardware without quotes. There are
quite a few companies that have small parts. BTW small brass screws works also
for a search.

I posted a hdr pano before, however using flickr, the image could not be
enlarged enough to really view it. I got the "bug" tonight, and shot this,
which is a pano made up of 4 hdr images. Each hdr image was created with 6
files ranging from +3/--2 f stops. I might be over doing the number of
exposures, but I'm also just play'n around with this stuff. You can get a good
view of the image by clicking on the pop-out that appears on the right hand side
of the image. Comments and suggestions welcome. Thanks!

What software did you use to combine the images?
