I get several calls a week from companies and recruiters looking for
people with good modeling, analysis & design and Agile Development
skills - and frankly, 9 times out of 10 I can't help them.
I believe it's in everybody's interest that employers can sort the
wheat from the chaff, but we are a pretty fragmented bunch and of the
dozens of people I know who fit the bill, nearly all of them are tied
up nearly all of the time.
I would like to extend my circle of peers and maybe pre-sort some
wheat from a whole bunch of chaff.
My plan is this:
* Create a register of UML & Agile practitioners
* Rate & review practitioners over the phone entirely for free to give
a basic "knows his/her stuff" thumbs up for employers
* Provide every practitioner in the register with their own unique
page so they can point employers or clients to their rating
(obviously, if you don't rate I won't advertise the fact!)
Perhaps I'm barking up the wrong tree, but with clients telling me
they don't think much of certification programs from the OMG, IBM,
Sun, Microsoft and so on, I think there's a real need for this sort of
peer review thingummyjig.
I would like to gauge the level of interest on both sides, so if you
think you'd like to be listed - or would be interested in seeing a
list like that as an employer - and want to know more, please let me know.
Cheers
Jason Gorman
