an exhibition by german born photographer at regen projects,

7 M E G A T R E N D
... are you prepared for the mood consumers?
starting around the 1900's we saw the beginning of mass consumption,
one product to everybody as long as the basic need for that product exists.
about 50 years later, facing more diversified lifestyles, companies found product
extensions a way to increase their market impact. they started to use more
sophisticated techniques to identify different market segments, primarily based
on demographics such as age, gender or income.
today, the formula seems to have reached its limits. why is that so?
consumers refuse to act according to their demographic segment - and as a result
from advertising overexposure - they also loose faith in traditional branding strategies.
they act more according to their mood and current situation, influenced by a global context.
they want to be excited about a product, price or service and they are more mature,
informed and demanding than ever before...
the french trend forecast studio style-vision, in collaboration with designboom,
is dedicated to deliver creative scenarios of the future consumers.
global leaders in cosmetics, foods, fashion, fragrance, furniture, textiles, automotives, travel,
hospitality, banking and electronics are currently using the style-vision reports to better
anticipate changing consumer behavior and to sparkle innovation in the creation process.
a comprehensive research, co-edited by designboom.
