Final week of EXPOSÉ 3 Entries!
This is the last week to enter your images for EXPOSÉ 3, the industry's most prestigious and acclaimed CG art book. Entries close on Monday 28 February 2005, so make sure you get your work in early to beat the crunch!
The publication of EXPOSÉ 3 is scheduled for release in August 2005. There is no cost (or limit) to enter and the artists who have work selected for inclusion in the book will enjoy worldwide exposure in the world's premium collection of digital artwork.

Grand Space Opera Winners Announced!

Reader Project: The Joker
Filipes Lopes takes CGNetworks readers through the process of creating the comic book villain 'The Joker' - recently awarded a CG Choice award.
I'm a big fan of comic book illustrations and always wanted to make a 3D version of my favorite characters. After seeing the Batman image that a friend, Ricardo "Zy" Thiele did, I had the idea to make a 3D version of The Joker, one of my favorite villains. The main task I had in mind was to capture in one image the very sinister and sarcastic atmosphere. To get this effect I would need a good light and a good facial expression to show his wild personality.

Alienware MJ-12 7750 Workstation Review
Joseph Tan looks at Alienware's top-of-the-line DCC workstation, the MJ-12 7750. Can Alienware successfully break into the workstation market from its gaming background?
Our configured MJ-12 is a real brute, weighing in at 22kg (excluding the Creative Labs Audigy's breakout box). That's quite heavy for a workstation; it might as well be the Battleship Galactica. The case is made from steel, although tough, makes for a significantly heavier machine than some of the competition's aluminium chassis.
