• 26th Annual Sports Emmy Award Winners Announced
Winners of the 26th Annual Sports Emmy Awards were presented May 2nd by the National Television Academy at a special ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. Leading sports broadcasters, athletes and executives attended the star-studded ceremony.

• IBIS Appointed for MOS-Enabled PCR Playout by ESPN
IBIS Inc (Integrated Broadcast Information Systems) has been selected by ESPN to provide MOS-enabled Production Control Room (PCR) playout applications.

• Washington Nationals Hire Darling as Television Analyst
The Washington Nationals filled out their primary TV broadcasting crew by hiring Ron Darling, a 13-year big league pitcher and former broadcaster for ESPN, Fox Sports Net and College Sports Television, as game analyst.

• NBC to keep Kentucky Derby, Preakness
NBC has televised the first two races of horse racing’s Triple Crown series since 2001. The renewal, announced last Tuesday, runs through 2010.

• Lakers' Sunderland Gets The Axe
The Lakers officially informed television play-by-play man Paul Sunderland last Monday that he would not be rehired for next season, even though the team had indicated that it does not have a new broadcaster in place.
