FYI: Introducing DefendTek TDI-layer Firewall Sample   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #68 of 142 |
September 3, 2003 - PCAUSA is releasing a new product called DefendTek.
DefendTek is a TDI-layer firewall solution for Windows NT, Windows 2000 and
Windows XP written by David Thielen, formerly of Microsoft.

DefendTek includes:
Control Application - Implements user interface for setting firewall
rules and generating reports.
Support Service - Performs some operations best done in user-mode.
TDI Filter - Kernel-mode filter that implements the firewall rules.

Although DefendTek is well tested and is in a form suitable for use by
end-users, it is not being marketed in executable to end-users.

Instead, it is offered in source code form to customers who have the need
for a flexible TDI-level firewall solution that they can adapt in-house to
their own needs. Customers who license DefendTek receive royalty-free rights
to redistribute the executables of their derived firewall solution.

DefendTek is not included with the PCAUSA TDI Samples. Although is was
developed using the TDI filtering mechanisms illustrated in the PCAUSA TDI
filter samples, DefendTek is a separate product.

Information about DefendTek can be found at the URL:

http://www.pcausa.com/DefendTek/default.htm

Warm regards,

Thomas F. Divine
