It's not possible to play a data dvd (or any kind of dvd, for that matter) in an ordinary cd player. Does your laptop have a dvd player or is it a cd player?

I recorded some music so I could have a cd of certain songs. It was
suggested to me that I record it as a data dvd and that way I could
get more on there. So that is what I did. Put about 4 hours of music
on there I think. It plays just fine in the computer I recorded it on,
but will not play in a regular cd player and will not play on my
laptop either. This is the message I get when I try to play it on my
laptop.
"Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play,
burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to
a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted." I went to windows
media web help. I tried enabling all network protocols, I tried
verifying proxy server protocols, under techinical details it says

I haven't tried anything under "additional assistance" yet because
every further step I go, the instructions get more complicated and I
don't feel comfortable going around and changing a lot of setting for
fear of really screwing things up.
Suggestions? Thanks, Beth
ps: I run Windows XP HE on a Dell Inspiron 1501. I have the lastest
