ANN: PDF-API2 goes unmaintained

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

hi!

Most of you might have found that i have been relatively silent this
past 2 years and i have finally brought myself to the point that i
have to leave PDF::API2 unmaintained.

It has been 10 years, 3 months and 6 days since i started coding perl
for the purpose of PDF creation.

First i started with an alternative xs-wrapper around pdflib, but soon
realized that it left much to be desired and started Text::PDF::API.

The latest major iteration of PDF::API2 (0.40) was written 47 months
ago in just under 2 weeks, but even that could not solve THE major
problems in the areas of "memory" and "modification".

For the past two years i have myself almost literally ripped apart
between work, family, hobbies and my opensource projects so this had
to stop somewhere.

since pdf-api2 cvs is hosted on SF, it will be available for years to
come with releases hosted on PAUSE and available via CPAN, but i would
like to see some company devoted to FLOSS to takeover development/
maintainance.

any suggestions ?

cheers,

- --
