PES-LIGHTNING

The pes-lightning mailing list is dedicated to discussions on
lightning, its effects on the electric power system, and surge
protection. It is jointly hosted by the IEEE Power Engineering
Society's Surge Protective Devices Committee and working groups
under the Transmission and Distribution Committee (the working group
on Estimating the Lightning Performance of Transmission Lines and
the working group on the Lightning Performance of Distribution
Lines). The mailing list is used to send meeting minutes for those
groups.

The pes-lightning list is also used by CIGRE working group 33.01
(lightning).

Other discussion topics include:
(*) Lightning characteristics
(*) Transmission and distribution line performance
(*) Line insulation
(*) Models of line performance
(*) Surge arresters
(*) Grounding
(*) Equipment protection

Rules of the list:
(*) Keep the discussions on the topic.
(*) The list is unmoderated, but please keep discussions
professional and emotions down (do not engage in flame wars).
(*) Commercial posts are OK as long as they are related to the
subject and are not overdone. Examples include relevant job
postings, info on courses, or product announcements.

To send a message to the list, address it to:
pes-lightning@majordomo.ieee.org

To remove yourself from the pes-lightning mail list, send a mail
message to:
majordomo@majordomo.ieee.org (not to pes-lightning!!!)
with the text "unsubscribe pes-lightning" included on the first line
of the message (the subject line of the message is ignored).

For more information on IEEE mailing lists see
http://majordomo.ieee.org/eleccomm/maillist.htm or contact Tom Short
(ta.short@pti-us.com) who is the list administrator.
