... Actually, it's more accurate for low objects. As I pointed out, the size change for an object at 30 degrees alt angle vs at the zenith, if you don't ...
When we bought the 16" for PGO, it was used and the previous owner included a case of eyepieces. Some are basic to intermediate Meades, but the rest are nice...
Thanks John.....let me know, if I can help myself and help you guys recycle some un-needed equipment in the bargain then by all means bring it on :) Right now...
for the record... the eyepiece in your scope was is a celestron SMA 25mm..a beefy one, but still not a plossl;-) I'd certainly look in to the 15mm and the...
Thanks Joe, I didnt see a brand name on it. I imagine a comparision would be called for on the 25 as you said. ... SMA 25mm..a ... 15mm and ... have, it ... ...
yep, just figured I'd point it out so that you can save your money for other eyepieces. By the way, the sea foam worked great. It had me idling w/ the choke...
You can also de-carbonize your pistons and valves with the seafoam......Be sure sure when you do park the bike for the winter that you treat the gas with it...
You may need to line up the red dot finder. I'd usually point at something easy to find, like the moon, center it in the eyepiece and then adjust the screws...

Hello all! My name is Rob and I am originally from Indiana but have been living out of state for about 15 years and have finally returned to my Hoosier roots. ...
I've done some general asteroid astrometry, but for occultations you need a video camera designed for maximum light sensitivity (like a security camera), and a...
We don't have any regular events scheduled for the winter. There are sometimes other group events out there, but it wouldn't be common in the winter unless...
The key to winter observing is access to a warm-room. As John indicated, there are only two members with keys, so that's a natural constriction unless you can...
I still observe in my backyard down into single digit temperatures. It is nice to be able to stay inside while the mirror cools, though. Anyway, I'm...
Hi John, Visual observations are just as useful and I have done a few in the past before I purchased some occultation-specific equipment. You can still gather...
I hope I can come out and check out your observatory on a public night sometime this spring. I recently moved back here from Oklahoma and was one of the...
Pat, If the skies ever clear again, and I'm begining to have my doubts, I'll have the scopes out in my drive in Burlington. The skies are not the darkest but...
Doug, That would be great! What kind of scopes do you have? Also, I guess I should introduce myself... I'm a mechanical engineer at Delphi in Kokomo. I live...
