Amost embarrassed to reply this late, but I just poke dmy head in
here and saw this query. I also just received notice of an Palm app
that acts like iTunes on your palm by mOcean. Here is the link...

Dave,

I don't own a Zire, so I'm not real familiar with it. Unfortunately every Palm seems to have a different connector, etc.  I synch my E2 using wireless (BlueTooth) or my cable, and press a button on the cable.   What does your user manual say?  Presume you've loaded the Palm desktop software to your home PC. You might post your question in the help section at Palm.com.

If you haven't looked into it yet, you might want to wait for the 700p.
I don't think Cingular has it yet (Sprint and Verizon do currently) but
if they expect similar network speeds, you'll be very happy.

I use a 650 from Verizon. A few people at work got 700p's - the network
is FAST.

Well after two plus years of chaos and anarchy without a Palm, I am
back. Since I am moving my wireless to my new employer from my old
carrier, I am soon to be the proud owner of a Treo 650! They are
awesomely priced at $199 on the Cingular website now. I will be
looking to jump back on the bike and get riding again, I can't wait to
rediscover all the possibilities.

being fundamentally lazy, I never stopped to figure it out.
I just dl them and put them on the card.

Joe,

I can pick up Wifi anywhere I can find the bubble. If you have a wireless router at home you can connect that way, and even do a hotsynch, although I use Bluetooth to hotsynch.  I have a Panera Bread nearby that has free wireless. The wireless card works in most airports, hotels, etc.  I use the card in my Palm E2, but it works on the Zire 72 and some others.  You can go to Palm.com for spec's.  It works on the T3, T5, and Treo700W also. $99.99.  Yours for $50.00.  Let me know if you are interested. I could meet you south of Allentown somewhere - Quakertown? Where are you located?

The current version of the 700w supports SMS based push of email from
Exchange 2003 servers directly to the device without additional software on
the desktop or server.

You can also use the included Wireless Sync client coupled with the Wireless
Sync service from Verizon Wireless to get push email. The Wireless Sync
version uses an IP push mechanism but requires a desktop proxy or server.

Has anyone heard anything recently about the Palm that is supposed to come
out this year but has the "push" technology like the Blackberry?

No this doesn't sound right to me. I don't think these software chgs
have anything to do with Blazer/SMS.

BTW, if you want to setup events/calendar notes and get an SMS
reminder on them - try www.airset.com. It can also sync and act as a
backup for your contacts and calendar.(Excuse the shameless plug,
but I'm really excited about this company)

Try eBay – that is the place to find stuff like that.

This is a real shot in the dark but, I need a replacement flip-down cover for my Treo 90. Its a clear plastic cover that flips down to cover the face of the unit but allows you to see the screed. Nothing seems available from manufacturer and other searches have been unproductive. Believe it or not, the dog really did eat it - almost. He bit right into the unit, broke the cover, but otherwise no damage. Anyone have a cover they would part with?  Thank you for any ideas. - Ray
