Hi All,
It's been a while. Is there any interest in a Philadelphia iPhone
User's Group? Yeah, I know PDA Users Group is broad enough to cover
iPhone, but I couldn't resist. Many Palm Developers are starting the
port to iPhone, and yes, I'm heading to the Big Nerd Ranch to come up
to speed quickly. (It almost feels like a Palm do-over!)

Perhaps it was an OQO or something similar (oqo.com)? There's a couple models like this circulating, with varying issues - hot processor, short battery life, etc.

I thought I saw someone with something like that on the train one day,
but I didn't see the name on the machine.
Anyone know anything about something like that?
I liked my Palm V when I had one, but the screen was too tiny, and the
keyboard - well, WHAT keyboard? I'm a touch-typist, and I hated
graffiti (sp?)

The following accessories for a Samsung i500 phone, "free to a good home". I
know they work with the i300 and i330, and probably work with the i550.
Travel charger
Car charger
Serial sync cradle and charger (works nicely with Linux sync apps)
USB sync cradle
I could meet anyone around the Philadelphia area, or mail elsewhere.

Can one use a data projector with a Palm LifeDrive PDA?
Apart from showing a PowerPoint presentation on the screen of the PDA
itself, is there a way of projecting that through a data projector onto
a screen or other large viewing surface?

There is one listed somewhere on the Palm web site. You should also try
the forum (sign yourself up with an account) at www.palminfocenter.com
If all else fails, you could call the number they have for orders, and
ask to be transferred to support. It's worth a try.
I have two things that are starting to bug me, but since my Lifedrive is new to me maybe there is something I just don't know . . .
My unit seems to lock up on me an awful lot and not according to any pattern. I end up resetting it or turning it off and on again to get it unlocked. Is this usual with the Lifedrive? Is there something I should avoid doing? Is there an adjustment I can make?
Is there any way to increase the screen's sensitivity to the touch of the stylus?
could you please unsubscribe me from the group, I no longer have a device
thanks,
Frederic

I have downloaded the updated drivers for the LifeDrive - i.e.
UWKeyboardv113.zip but get the same problems as the CD that came with
the keyboard. Nothing that I type has anything to do with what appears.
Is this a common problem with a known fix? What are my alterntives if
any?

Has anyone successfully installed the Palm Desktop on Linux using WINE?
I don't plan on syncing or using it, really. I just want to install the Smart
List to Go Desktop (which reads the Palm-native PDB files that Linux syncs)
and SLTG won't install unless it finds a Palm Desktop (presumably searching
for HotSync)

Well if it is software designed to run on your handheld (and not the desktop)
then it won't run in windows. You have to install it to your handheld. Do
you have the Palm Desktop installed in Windows? Should have come on a CD
with your handheld.

Hi -- I am hoping someone can help me. I am using a Zire31, and just go a new laptop with Windows XPmedia. I am unable to load the software because XPmedia does not support this software. I am happy with the 31... I really only use the calendar and Epocrates.
I have no problems running Core Media Player's open source predecessor
TCMP on my T|X. I watched an entire movie which I had ripped to a SD
card while on a flight back from Florida last week. I have also been
able to load media to the "Media" component of Palm Desktop and run it
that way, but this is a much slower method (because the software
encodes the file, instead of playing it in native mpeg, avi or
whatever, as TCMP does.)
