I must have missed the start of this thread during some computer upgrading recently. I can’t help wondering where these orphaned VOB files are coming from. I mean I’ve never seen VOB files that didn’t come out of a DVD VIDEO_TS folder that should also have proper .IFO files in it.

 

The proper procedure for a 642 owner would be to obtain AGK software.

It’s very easy to use. Just point it at the corresponding IFO file for the VOB you want and it will produce a fine XviD AVI file for the 642. It even has ESS compatibility for the 642.

... VOB's are part of the DVD structure and so will not work from a 'data disk' ... Correct. ... this will work as well. ... Personally I would convert them...
