I'm still on my dvp642. However, I'm thinking about buying another player for christmass.
Just one question .. does any of those player have volume on their remote controls?
If you ask me, that's the only thing missing ..

I just bought the 5990 with the USB 2.0 & love it. Plays all my divx/xvid videos no problem. Now the FF finally works. It also plays Windows wmv files too. I believe the 5990 & 5992 are virtually identical but no positive.

... I got a DVP5960 when they first came out. Vary nice machine but, playing on the USB 1.0 would occasionally cause a stutter effect on complex scenes like...

... player ... remote ... Well the 5990 does have a volume control as well as a channel up/dn. It seems to be for the TV rather than the player though....
