I was looking at getting a new Philips divx/dvd player. While looking
on WalMart's website, I saw the Philips DVDR3576H/37.

Upon further searcing, I found a forum thread that stated the Magnavox
H2160MW9 was the same thing essentially. Yes, I know Philips and
Magnavox are part of the same company PhilipsMagnavox.

This thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1054933
states that the Magnavox does NOT play DivX.

2 questions I guess. Has anyone used either one of these? Does the Mag
really not play divx? Any thoughts on either one? From what I read the
Magnavox has a better menu, but if it doesn't play DivX does the
Philips have a menu that is tolerable?

Not a big deal, I could always just keep my current Philips as a divx
player if I got the Mag instead of the Philips dvdr with hdd.

Just looking for some input, if anyone has experience with these 2. Or
maybe another one that does similar things from another manufacturer.

Ok, is the interface particularly bad, for someone who understands technology and can get used to it. Meaning, is it just horrid, or just not the best? I guess...

BOB- The Magnavox H2160MW9's interface is by no means "unuseable". If you use computers at all, or even a cellphone, I'm pretty sure the Mag's interface will...
