Description

A group for discussing the ideas and work of Dougal Dixon, and relevant works relating to speculative zoology and science fiction. Deviations from the forum's subject will not be tolerated unless they pertain to zoology, paleontology, or applied science and it's use in science fiction, and Science fiction/fantasy art in the context of creature drawing. Discussion of science fiction outside the discipline of use of science in sci-fi will be discouraged. Discussion of tabletop or electronic gaming must be kept in proper context, pertaining to creatures or artwork, not character development, walkthroughs or any other factets of gaming.

I am the creator of this group, Timothy Donald Morris, anyone who knows me well is welcome here, as are all other people enthusistic to further this groups goals. I am a good guy, but will not tolerate misbehavior, harrassment, or immaturity.

Good Friends of the Dixonian Philosphy (things that we are very much encouraged to discuss here, ad infinitum):

Speculative zoology, Snaiad, All tomorrows, The Speculative Dinosaur Project, The Neocene Project, Star Wars creatures and creature fan-art (Especially Terryl Whittlach's Amazing Work), Creature fantasy art, Creature sci-fi art, Puppetry, Animatronics, Jim Henson's work, Jim Henson's creature shop and it's work, Animation etc.

The works of relevant authors, like Lewis Carrol, Wayne Barlowe, Nemo Ramjet, Michael Crichton and Terry Pratchett, and relevant filmmakers like George Lucas, Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg, etc.

I'm sorry to say that improper discussion of the works of Tolkien will be discoraged. That means, discussion outside their influence on creative practice, and outside of Tolkien creatures, is SEVERELY FROWNED UPON.

Fanboys/Fangirls, use discretion here, or you will not be encouraged to stay. All other enthusiasts, have fun.

I hope you enjoy your stay. (Group fotomanip partial thanx to DA)

The evolutionary potential of champsosaurs
Basically this is to discuss how far could choristodere diversification occur. For example, is it feasible to have Metriorhynchus like forms?
