Do you love taking photographs, but find that they sit in a box? Do you love books? Have you ever participated in a fatbook? Do you love quotations? Do you want to be inspired by photographs by other photographers? If you answer yes to any of these consider participating in one of these themed photo art journals.
The idea for these photo art journals came from my love of images and my participation in the fatbooks yahoo group. I decided it was time to combine all the things I love into books. Photo Art Journals are little books of photographs along a specific theme. Any member of this group may participate in the book by following the guidelines and theme in the database. The hope is that these little books will serve as inspiration for you to improve your own photography, to go deeper into the language of images, as well as come across a quote or a piece of writing or an extract from a poem on the back of the photograph that makes you think and feel more deeply.
Jan Phillips, the author of "God is at Eye Level - Photography as a Healing Art" puts it perfectly when she says: "Photography is as much about seeing inside ourselves as it is about looking out at the world. All creative activity joins spirit to matter and so can transform. But photography is special. It is all about focus and attention, image and shadow, figure and ground, darkness and light". Jan's website is www.janphillips.com.
Sign up for the photo art journals you wish to participate in on the poll page. Details of the books are in the database.

"Composition must be one of our most constant preoccupations, but at the moment of shooting it can stem only from our intuition, for we are out to capture the fugitive moment, and all the interrelationships involved are on the move."
Henri Cartier-Bresson
