Greetings,
downloading photos onto my PC they end up in a folder marked its respective
date. Then I distribute the pics to their various categories until the folder is
empty - almost. There is a ghostly file left with the Photoshop avatar marked
`ZbThumbnail'.
Placing the cursor over it, it says: 'type INFO file' and a certain amount of
KBs. It does not open.
I always delete the folder with this strange file in it. Do I do the right
thing? What does this file mean?
Thanks for answers - Klaus and Rusty (the dog)

Annette,

As I wrote before, it's better cropped, but...
Do *you* think it's better cropped?
Do you "see" why it's better cropped?

Good Morning all,

I was going through some of my old photos and came across one that I thought would look better with a little crop.

Does it make and improvement?  I am trying to rescue some of my old boring photos and maybe make them more interesting by mabye cropping.

Thanks for looking

It sure does improve it!
I would have chose a slightly different crop, but that photo needed a crop
for sure!

I know I was thinking the same thing but if I do that then the person's leg that was standing behind it would show.

I like it!  The only thing I'd suggest is leaving more of the hat on the "girl" doll.  But that's just my preference.. .it looks good!  :o)

Hi JoAnn.....THANKS!
I suppose it certainly could be....there has to be a certain respect for being in/on their territory.....
Having said that, "Bubba" as he is known as, was out in the middle of the Marsh not making a move, sometimes hard to tell if he was even alive-LOL...
I was zoomed in quite a bit with 300zoom...then cropped the photo...so he looks like he was much closer than he actually was....altho, still quite close considering ...I felt comfortable with my distance, as did most observers that were there:)
There is a trail there called Alligator Alley....you can see one 'gator after another walking the trail, all sizes, so it is best to stay on the designated trail...but I find it quite exciting....beautiful scenery/landscape too :)
Bubba is an American Alligator

Most web space providers charge a $500 clean up fee when the site is
shut down due to a DMCA demand letter.

Find the actual server owner. My experience was with Verio. The sent
a letter for the removal to the site owner. The site owner remove the
link to the photo, but still have in directory and you could directly
access it.

The second demand letter resulted in the complete take-down of the
web site and a fee assessment of $500 us dollars.

YMMV.

But, The 1st contact should be with the provider with a DMCA demand.
Allow them to manage their client. it works well usually.

Hello, all!

I just started a blog....it's a photo blog and a "hi, it's me" kind of blog.  If anyone has the time, I would appreciate it if you could check it out and give me some feedback on it.  Thanks!  I only have 4 photo albums up right now, but each day's page also has a photo on it.  The URL is included in my signature at the bottom (or you can click here - http://web.me. com/kidsnurse/ Site)

If you don't want to check it out, that's OK, too.  I understand everyone is busy.  Have a wonderful day!!!! (Sorry if anyone considers this spam - it is not meant that way).

Lisa

For a bit of inspiration, you can see our entries from the last time we tackled this subject, September 28, 2008, here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/photography_beginners/discuss/72157607543788686/

Remember: Photos must be taken the day of the challenge (according to the title) to qualify!

See challenge rules and info including how to embed a photo here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/photography_beginners/discuss/72157607423847225/

Please avoid voting because you like an idea or the subject of one photo better than another if that means overlooking the technical aspects of the photo. The purpose of this group is to improve our photography and I believe that keeping the above in mind will help us all push ourselves technically to become better photographers.

I have learned most of my stuff online.
The website that taught me the most about portraiture is
www.ilovephotography.com . It is geared towards kids portraiture, but that
doesnt matter. Ofcourse our Erica has a wonderful website and also does
classes :)

That's Great, JoAnn...Lake Wales would not be too far at all..and well worth the trip for him if he is a wildlife photographer:)

My brother in law is in Lake Wales and I sent him the information. He is a wildlife photographer. He said he hadn't heard of this place but is going to look it up. He's always looking for new places to photograph.

I discovered a new place...A Reserve, that is less than 10 minutes from where I live....cannot believe I didn't know it was there or find it sooner...
it is called
Circle B Bar Reserve
Complete with Marsh and wetlands, a good sized Lake, park/recreation area and education center, of course my favorite is the Marsh and Wetland area...I have uploaded a few pics from my second visit yesterday if you would like to take a look...While I don't think they are my better photos, it was truly an enjoyable experience and I will be back for more :)
As always, comments welcomed.
ENJOY!
