Hi Guys-
This is Jessica Rotondi... I was at PHTS on and off '96-'00.
I'm very excited to invite you all to the play I'm directing called
"Andy and Edie". This is a wonderfully inventive play about Andy
Warhol and Edie Sedgewick. For those of you who don't know who Edie
Sedgewick was, basically she was the IT girl of 1965, Andy Warhol's
superstar of '65, and basically a fashion icon of the 60s who dated
many famous men like Bob Dylan. If you don't know who Andy Warhol is…
I'm really not sure how you've existed on this planet. Anyway I think
this play really examines our obsession with fame, as well as many of
life's universal themes- with the backdrop of the Factory, the late
60s, and the early 70s. You can read all about it on the website at
andyandedie.com
This isn't just a line…please get the tickets soon if you're planning
on coming because tickets are selling fast. I can say that in all
honesty because the writer/producer is doing a ton of publicity,
because he writes for many magazines himself. We've been in tons of
papers and magazines, so the tickets truly are going fast. I know
there are a lot more tickets available during the weeknights as
opposed to the weekends, so if you could come to any of the weeknight
shows I'm sure there will be some available at the door.
We're having an Invited Dress Rehearsal on June 3. Tickets are a few
dollars cheaper, but it's really just for those of you that have the
compassion and understanding of what Dress Rehearsal is like for a
three act play with 25 actors. If you're still a theater person and
you're generous enough to come and give me your input, I'd love for
you to come on June 3.
The show is running June 4-13, most nights are at 8 and Sunday's show
is at 7 – at the Shetler Theater 244 W. 54th St. (btwn. Broadway and
8th Ave.). Tickets can be bought at SmartTix.com or by calling
212-868-4444.
I hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Jessica
