Hey There!
[image: http://www.idafestival.org]As you may or may not have heard me talk
about over the past year and a half, the ID America Festival is finally
here! My company Quo Vadimus Arts is producing this amazing festival of 30
plays from all over the country and I am very proud of the work we have put
in to this. It should be an exciting and interesting night of unique
theater in NYC (yes, i said it). So I hope you can make it! Take a look at
all the amazing artists who are involved and show them and QVA your support
and buy some tickets :)
Thanks,
Eve Gibson

ID AMERICA FESTIVAL*
24 Short Plays About American Identity
*Written by Playwrights from around the Nation
Performed In New York City, November 10-21, 2007*
*Quo Vadimus Arts will kick-off the ID America Festival showcasing 30 plays
from 15 different states this November. Playwrights from around the nation
convene in New York City from November 10 - 20 at the Milagro Theatre at
the Clemente Soto Velez Center at 107 Suffolk St., accessible to the F, J,
M, and Z trains at Delancey.*
Plays will be divided into three evenings: *American
Psyche<http://www.idafestival.org/americanpsyche.html>
*, *American Culture <http://www.idafestival.org/americanculture.html>* and
*American Dreams <http://www.idafestival.org/americandreams.html>*. Each
evening contains eight plays and will perform several times throughout the
festival. November 18th, 19th and 20th will feature a Best of Festival
Showcase with plays from each evening, picked by audiences and a panel of
judges
<http://www.idafestival.org/tickets.html>A festival pass to see all three
shows is $35; individual tickets are $15. Tickets can be ordered through
TheaterMania at 212-352-3110 or online at www.idafestival.org/tickets.html.
Detailed information regarding the festival, the plays, and schedules is

*American Dreams <http://www.idafestival.org/americandreams.html>*
Directed by Josh Gelb <http://www.idafestival.org/crewbios.html#JGelb>
*with David Palmer Brown, Veronica Bruce, Dominique Fishback, Dina
Kirschenbaum, Adam Laupus, Mark Lindberg, Molly Pope, Karina Richardson, and
Anna Savant*
The American dream means something different for everyone. From the
nightmare of the notorious Sacco & Vanzetti to the aspirations of an Upper
East Side cocker spaniel with eating issues, the dreams we explore in this
evening are singularly American. In the course of an evening Irish
immigrants, fallen soldiers and heiresses will chase their American dreams.

American culture is the blending of many different peoples from around the
world into something new. It is cell phones, cowboys, American Idol and bar
fights. It is something reshaped and altered in the forges of September 11th
and the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Playwrights from coast to coast
examine our cultural differences and search for commonality.

A look into the minds of various Americans reveals a young woman's fear of
attack, a couple's voyeuristic tendencies and a teenage girl's medicated
struggle with sanity. Some journeys inward reveal inner superheroes while
others reveal helplessness and paranoia. Our playwrights reach into their
own psyches and present us with uniquely American frames of mind.

The highly anticipated ID America Festival was inspired by *Quo
Vadimus Arts<http://www.qvarts.org/>
* ' growing concern over the polarization of media in America. News
organizations are increasingly biased towards the left or right, and it is
rare to find an open forum where differing points of view are given equal
weight. QVA searched the country for playwrights to help create a festival
that questions, explores, challenges and celebrates what it means to be
living in America today.
QVA put out the call for submissions, looking for playwrights of all ages,
of all levels of experience, from all over the country. They received 332
submissions, from 219 playwrights, ages 17 - 83, from 33 states and 6
different countries, including Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland and
Nigeria. Visit *www.idafestival.org* <http://www.idafestival.org/> or *
www.qvarts.org* <http://www.qvarts.org/> to learn more about the festival,
the plays and playwrights.
Quo Vadimus Arts is an international community of artists working to promote
the exchange of ideas and experiences between cultures. Quo Vadimus means
'where are we going?'. This is a question that our company seeks to
continually explore by broadening the scope of dialogue at a community
level. It is the constant confrontation of this question that gives us
direction. Our projects are chosen to bring new stories and voices to
audiences who may have not had an opportunity to hear them otherwise.
The Milagro Theatre is located at the CSV Cultural
