Hi- I'm a PHTS alum (4th year company- Spring 1996, Music Practicum
96-97, grad UD Drama, 1998), and the founder of the company I work
with (Creative Memories) will be coming to New York City in the fall
on a tour to promote her book, "The Creative Memories Way." (The
book has sold over 50,000 copies so far.)
We are looking into some promotional opportunities for her while
she's here, and I'm trying to find the correct contact people to
speak to on some of the local and national TV shows, etc. And I
thought this would be the perfect time to try to network within the
alumni group. Do you know anyone who works on the Today show, any of
the local morning programs, or Regis & Kelly, that kind of thing? Or
if someone doesn't coordinate that themselves, but knows who I should
speak to, that would be very helpful as well. We are also working on
setting up a book signing while she's here.
I've attached the company's most recent press release, in case
someone needs more information. Anyone who can help me out can reach
me via email JMSjulie@..., or on my cell 917-767-1535.

>>"Creative Memories Celebrates 15 Years
When a business hits a major milestone, there's a natural tendency to
pause and look back. And, who could blame Creative Memories if they
did just that during their 15th year? After all, the St. Cloud, Minn.-
based company definitely has the tools for it. In fact, they make the
tools.
But, according to Co-founder and President Cheryl Lightle, "We're
using the occasion to look forward."
Creative Memories is credited by many with igniting the spark behind
the scrapbooking industry. With Creative Memories Consultants showing
the way, creating keepsake scrapbook albums has quickly grown into a
passion, nationwide. People everywhere are looking back at their
photos and sharing their stories.
Today, Creative Memories has over 60,000 Consultants in the United
States and seven countries worldwide. Consultants continue to educate
and motivate their customers with their direct-selling, party-plan
format. And the company continues to develop and manufacture quality,
photo-safe albums and supplies.
"This is a powerful way for people to preserve the past, enrich the
present and inspire hope for the future," explains Lightle. "It's a
chance to make connections."
That opportunity for building and improving connections has clearly
resonated in our society as Creative Memories has grown to over $300
million in sales in just 15 years, with no sign of slowing down.
"After 15 years, we're looking forward to the next 30 years,"
confirms Lightle. "We're looking for new markets internationally.
We're looking for new ways to reach out and connect with different
segments of the market here in the United States. And we're always
looking for new products that can help make it easier for people
everywhere to capture and preserve their memories."
Founded in 1987 in St. Cloud, Minn., Creative Memories is one of the
fastest growing international direct selling companies. Currently,
more than 60,000 independent sales Consultants teach others to
preserve their memories in safe, meaningful keepsake albums. The
Creative Memories program is taught in the United States, Canada,
Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Germany and Japan.
Through Home Classes, Workshops and a rewarding career opportunity,
Creative Memories fulfills its highest purpose: to make a difference
in the way people remember, celebrate and connect.
The Antioch Company, Creative Memories' parent company, is based in
Yellow Springs, Ohio. It has manufacturing and distribution
facilities in St. Cloud, Minn., Sparks, Nev. and Richmond, Va."<<<
